We're looking for a motivated CDL Utility Operator to support shipping operations at our Franklin paper mill. This position combines industrial material handling with local CDL driving responsibilities throughout our manufacturing campus.
No over-the-road driving. You'll be home every day while working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Operate yard trucks to move trailers between docks, drop yards, scales, and other locations throughout the ST Tissue campus.
- Transport finished goods and other materials between mill and warehouse facilities.
- Load and unload trailers safely and efficiently.
- Stage and organize trailers for shipping operations.
- Move, wrap, label, and inspect finished paper rolls.
- Verify Bills of Lading (BOLs) and shipping documentation.
- Check in carriers arriving for scheduled pickups.
- Load customer orders accurately according to shipping instructions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping yard and warehouse.
- Work closely with production, warehouse, and logistics personnel to support daily operations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to operate tractor-trailers in tight industrial environments.
- Experience loading/unloading trailers preferred.
- Forklift or industrial equipment experience preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work a rotating 12-hour schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
