The Opportunity: We are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Manager to lead reliability and maintenance strategy across our operation. This role is ideal for a leader who thrives in fast-paced, high-accountability manufacturing environments and is passionate about building high-performing teams and improving equipment reliability.
What You’ll Do as a Mechanical Maintenance Manager:
- Lead and develop mechanical maintenance team (techs + contractors).
- Oversee maintenance team.
- Drive preventive & predictive maintenance programs.
- Troubleshoot complex equipment.
- Partner with Operations & E&I to reduce downtime.
- Lead outages, shutdowns, and major repairs.
- Manage maintenance budgets and capital projects.
- Champion safety and continuous improvement leader.
- May do some welding and fabrication.
- Parts order and maintain an inventory.
- Willing to work on-call, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
- Operates powered industrial trucks (PIT’s) as required.
- May be assigned special projects as needed.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree OR Associate degree with 10+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
- 5+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing maintenance.
- Experience with rotating equipment & heavy industrial systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Interpret blueprints, P&ID diagrams, and schematics.
- Computer literate, functional on word processing software, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.
- CMMS experience
- Valid and unrestricted driver's license.
Preferred:
- Tissue, paper, pulp & paper, or similar industry.
- Experience in 24/7 manufacturing environments.
Physical Demands:
- Frequently: sit, stand, walk, speak, and hear clearly; work with others, use a keyboard/calculator, and lift up to 10 pounds.
- Occasionally: Ascend/descend stairs, ladders, or ramps; bend forward at the waist, crouch, push, pull, twist, drive, and use hand tools; reach above and below shoulder level, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Vision Requirements: Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
