About the Role
Barnwell Tissue Solutions is seeking an experienced Millwright to support and maintain our plant’s mechanical equipment, ensuring it operates safely, efficiently, and reliably. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, replacing, and installing equipment in a high-performance manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Work as part of a collaborative maintenance team across multiple trades.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and install pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, piping, hydraulics, and other plant equipment.
- Perform predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance tasks.
- Read and interpret P&IDs, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Use rigging and lifting equipment to position heavy machinery and components.
- Align gears, shafts, and belts to exact tolerances.
- Inspect, service, and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Collaborate with operations, vendors, and leadership to solve technical challenges.
- Maintain accurate documentation for parts, materials, and maintenance activities.
- Follow all safety procedures and use required PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Participate in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Experience with large-scale equipment: pumps, gearboxes, piping, hydraulics.
- Proficient in reading P&ID drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Experience across multiple trades a plus (electrical, pipefitting, welding).
- Familiarity with PLCs is preferred.
- NCCER Certified is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Team-oriented, reliable, and safety-focused.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and 30 lbs. frequently.
- Climb ladders, stairs, bend, crouch, twist, push/pull, and work at heights.
- Use hand tools and operate machinery.
- Ability to see clearly at various distances (near/far, depth, peripheral).
