Position Details: Store Room Clerk


Summary of Position

Request all parts related to the maintenance and engineering departments while respecting the ST Tissue purchasing policies. Assist employees with equipment and parts. Maintain a clean and neat work area. Data entry of parts descriptions, inventory and consumption in the maintenance system. Parts consumption analysis. Daily interaction with vendors to follow up on ordered parts. Cost reduction analysis.

Duties & Responsibilities

· Follows and adheres to ALL ST Tissue safety & company policies & procedures.

· Develops parts room SOP’s as necessary.

· Adheres to all requirements of parts room SOP’s.

· Monitors and reports items that are in short supply because of breakage; recommends possible substitute items.

· Sets up and maintains storage locations.

· Assures that items are on hand in sufficient quantities at the time they are needed.

· Receives and unpacks incoming orders; checks against items listed on purchase orders, invoices or other order forms while ensuring quality and specifications of material ordered is addressed at time of receipt.

· Ensures that received items are properly stored in assigned locations.

· Maintains/inputs documentation of parts and equipment utilizing applicable systems.

· Receives requests desiring additional identification data, verification, or comparison of data on hand with reference sources.

· Involvement in projects to ensure adequate spare parts supply while maintaining minimum inventory.

· Develops and utilizes cycle count process and maintains high accuracy.

· Performs inventory cycle counts regularly and creates reports as requested for plant management, analyzing parts usage and noting relevant trends in the data.

· Maintains computer inventory tracking system, including proper withdrawal entries, receipt entries, cycle counts, etc.

· Maintains records and documentation; completes paperwork and updates computer records.

· Picks up particular parts and items when needed immediately to avoid downtime.

· Drives a fork lift to unload and store items.

· Is able to use logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

· Builds a positive rapport with stakeholders.

· Additional duties as assigned.


· High school graduate or equivalent

· 2 years of experience in inventory control, preferably in a warehouse or storeroom or any equivalent combination of education and experience which would provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities of a manufacturing environment

· Self-starter, independent, detail- oriented

· Advanced skill in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

· Ability to quickly learn E-Maintenance and purchasing/receiving systems

· Ability to build an organizational plan

· Strong knowledge of inventory management systems /software

· Knowledge of inventory controls methods and procedures.

Physical Demands

· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis

· Must be able to work 8-12 hours per shift

· Must be able to sit, bend, stand and walk during scheduled shift

· Must be able to work scheduled overtime

· Must be able to work weekends as necessary
