ST Tissue Franklin VA manufacturing facility

We are seeking applicants with an interest in working in a fast paced manufacturing environment. Prior manufacturing experience is a plus. Candidates will need to possess mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment.

Employees will function in a lean, team based environment. Additionally, those hired must be willing to do work outside of their normal job duties to help achieve safety, quality and productivity goals.

Must be willing to work 12 hour rotating shifts including holidays and weekends.

E & I Technician

Summary: Provides day-to-day support to the Fiber Recycling Plant, Tissue Mill and Converting Departments. Responsible for installing, maintaining and troubleshooting electrical/instrumentation systems.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
• Maintain and troubleshoot mill electrical power systems; 2,400 V, 480 V, 240/120V and 24VDC.
• Observe and follow all the safety regulations and plant procedures including use of personal protection equipment (PPE) such as respirators, fall protection harness, chemical suits, hardhats, safety glasses, face shields, gloves and other equipment as required to perform job duties safely.
• Utilize PLC and DCS System to troubleshoot – Tissue Machine, Winder, Recycled Fiber System and Converting Equipment.
• Performs basic maintenance and troubleshooting on automated control systems (PLC/DCS) and computer workstations in order to maintain a reliable operating unit.
• Install, setup and maintains process equipment – motors, motor starters, variable speed drives, various devices, etc.
• Calibrate, troubleshoot, repair and maintains various instruments such as flow, pressure, level and temperature devices and controllers.
• Troubleshoots system problems to determine if they are electrical, instrument or mechanical in nature.
• Familiar with electrical, electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Reads electrical, gas and steam usage meters, records information and generate monthly reports and report out of calibration situations.
• Performs PID control loop tuning to bring control loops to a precision state.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&ID’s and schematics and can make proper installations/changes.
• May be assigned to “Special Projects” as needed.
• Provides daily support to all plant operations in order to continue 24/7 operations.
• Willing to work overtime and provide off hours call out support when required.
• Performs and completes scheduled and non-scheduled work orders.
Qualification Requirements, Education, Skills and /or Experience:
• Must have excellent troubleshooting skills
• Strong instrumentation background preferred.
• 2 year associates degree in instrumentation or technical discipline preferred.
• Interacts well with – customers, employees, and various vendors
• Must be able to read and understand P&ID’s, electrical drawings, etc.
• Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment maintaining a positive attitude with others.
• DCS/ABB Controls and PLC Logic experience preferred.

General Maintenance Mechanic

Reports to: Maintenance Area Leader – Paper Mill
Summary: Reports to Paper Mill Maintenance Area Leader and ensures that plant process equipment, maintenance equipment, and rolling stock are kept in a safe, and good reliable, operating condition. General Maintenance Mechanics are expected to repair/replace and install equipment in a safe manner using techniques that ensure the best efficiency and extended life.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities include the following: • Works as a member of a team using skills in multiple crafts to accomplish the desired results.
• Observes and follows all the safety regulations and plant procedures including use of personal protection equipment (PPE) such as fall protection harness, chemical suits, hardhats, safety glasses, face shields, gloves and other equipment as required to perform job duties safely.
• Posses good understanding of all equipment in the area to the point of troubleshooting problems which may arise
• Ability to work with members of maintenance, operations, vendors and leadership to solve problems and improve operation of the facility.
• Ability to predict equipment problems before it is inoperable using quantitative data and skill from work experience.
• Keeps accurate records of materials used and ensures needed parts are ordered through the documentation system.
• Ability to interface with purchasing on required spare parts, including specifications and interchangeable parts.
• Ensure the work is done safely, in an environmentally sound manner and areas are left free of debris when the job is complete.
• May be assigned to “Special Projects” as needed

Qualification Requirements: • Education, Skills and /or Experience:
• Must have excellent troubleshooting skills
• 3-5 years maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment with large pumps, gearboxes, piping and hydraulics
• Ability to read P&ID schematics and blueprints and repair or install as required.
• Experienced in maintenance and replacement of centrifugal, positive displacement and pneumatic pumps, hydraulic and osculating cylinders, gearboxes, agitators, conveyors.
• Experienced in multiple crafts such as millwright, electrical, pipe fitting, welding a plus
• Interacts well with – customers, employees, and various vendors
• Must work and contribute in a collaborative team environment

Shipping Clerk/Logistics Administration

Summary: Ensures policies and procedures are followed in a consistent manner and that all customers, vendors and associates are served promptly in a courteous, professional manner. This position communicates with all levels in the organization regarding material receipt, quality, invoices, notices and updates.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
1. Follows all company policies and procedures.
2. Scan BOL’s to appropriate individuals.
3. Perform accounting transactions as necessary.
4. Protects information of a confidential nature.
5. Works closely with Shipping Area Leader in regard to maintaining files and monitoring procedures are followed.
6. Provides administrative assistance in the development of spreadsheets, typing of letters/memos and services as needed.
7. Interacts with all employees in the organization giving a positive image of ST Tissue.
8. Transportation coordination of finished goods shipments.
9. Communicates with Paper Brokers and Freight Companies in scheduling inbound and outbound loads.
10. Prepare necessary paperwork for outbound shipments.
11. Receive supplies, parts, etc. and notify appropriate manager of their arrival for pick up.
12. Assigned to Special Projects as needed.
Qualification Requirements, Education, Skills and /or Experience:
• Excellent problem solving skills with attention to details.
• Computer literate, functional in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to learn and operate in other programs.
• Must be self-motivated, handle several tasks at the same time while setting priorities to accomplish goals.
• Excellent communication skills: Listening, resolving conflict, maintaining a pleasant but professional level of interaction.
• Must be able to work in a team setting and change priorities without becoming frustrated.
• Experience working in a shipping, receiving, warehousing environment a plus.
